After the stories appeared and revealed a lack of access to clean running water for over two decades, a local outreach group, Blankets & Blessings, created the initiative Clean Water for Charleston Park. From that spawned donations that have led to several homes being equipped with new filters and reverse osmosis units at a cost of about $1,000 each.

Giving the Gift of Clean Water

2017 – Blankets and Blessings continues to distribute blankets, toiletries, bug spray and emergency housing. In November 2017 the group agrees to help with providing clean water to the residents living in Charleston Park in East Ft.Myers. In 2017 five homes were gifted water filtration equipment, wells were cleaned and sanitized and several tons of bottled water were donated.
